PROVINCE OF SASKATCHEWAN INVITES 769 CANDIDATES TO APPLY FOR CANADA PERMANENT RESIDENCE
The province of Saskatchewan that recently increased their list of eligible occupations in demand invited 769 Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates to apply for Canada permanent residence through its provincial nominee program. The draw was held on the held on the 25th September 2019. A total of 365 invitations were issued for the Occupation In-Demand candidates and another 404 invitations for candidates who are to apply through the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, which is open to eligible candidates with a profile in the Federal express entry.
This draw is the first after it announced a major change to the list of eligible occupations that could apply under its Express Entry and Occupation in demand sub categories. The change brought a marked increase to the number of eligible occupations that can now apply through the province for permanent residence.
For this draw it was not compulsory that candidates must have a job offer from the province. In addition, Canadian work experience was not required. The implication of this is that many skilled workers whose occupation are on the current list of eligible occupation can easily get selected for the program. Candidates must have one year of work experience in an eligible occupation related to the candidate’s field of study before they can be considered or selected for provincial nomination through either sub-category.
