NOVA SCOTIA HOLDS FIRST DRAW UNDER THE LABOUR MARKET PRIORITIES STREAM

The Province of Nova Scotia in her first draw for the year 2021 issued letters of invitations to eligible Express Entry Candidates who are financial officers otherwise classified as ‘Other financial Officers’ NOC 1114 under the Canada National Occupational Classification (NOC). The draw which was held on January 19th, 2020 under the Nova Scotia Labour market priorities stream provides eligible candidates that meets the province’s current labour market demands with the opportunity to apply for Canada permanent residence through provincial nomination.

The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream selects eligible candidates directly from the Federal Express Entry system (which comprises of the three economic programs: Federal Express Entry Skilled Worker program, Canadian Experienced Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program). Other eligibility requirements that was used for the draw include minimum of three years work experience as a financial officer and Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 9.0 or more. Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia (or other provinces) receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score and are effectively guaranteed an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool.
